What makes life worth living? Which people are the happiest? Can money buy happiness and wellbeing? How can we maximize our wellbeing? This innovative course is designed to answer these questions and more by examining the fundamentals of happiness and wellbeing. You will also have an opportunity to develop a range of evidence-based practical skills that will help you to boost positive emotions and wellbeing, to enable you to flourish in your academic and personal life. These strategies include building character strengths, gratitude, savoring, mindfulness, and meaning and purpose in life, as well as physical aspects of wellbeing with a psychological component. You will also learn how and why they work according to various theoretical models such as Broaden and Build and PERMA. The course will also explore cultural and qualitative perspectives of wellbeing, so that you can develop a global and critical perspective
