
On the morning of April 1st (local time), at Harvard Kennedy School, Deputy Prime Minister Lê Minh Khái and his delegation listened to Professor Thomas Vallely, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Fulbright University Vietnam and Director of the Vietnam Program at Harvard University, introduce the topic “The Global Economy and Vietnam’s Economic Growth Outlook.” The discussions included sessions such as “Global Economic Crises and Growth Prospects through 2030: Implications for Emerging Economies,” presented by Professor Jason Furman, a Harvard Kennedy economist and former Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers under President Barack Obama; and “Recent Economic Developments in Asia and Their Impact on the Global Economy and Vietnam,” presented by Professor Anthony Saich, a Harvard Kennedy expert in International Relations.
Deputy Prime Minister Lê Minh Khái expressed his gratitude to Dr. Lê Việt Quốc, a member of the Board of Trustees of Fulbright University Vietnam and an Honorary Scientist at Google. He congratulated Dr. Lê Việt Quốc, a prominent Vietnamese expert at Google, for his significant contributions not only to Google but also to the world. Thanking Dr. Lê Việt Quốc for his valuable insights and recommendations for Vietnam, the Deputy Prime Minister requested that the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Information and Communications study and report to the Government on solutions for developing this field.
Deputy Prime Minister Lê Minh Khái also expressed his hope that Dr. Lê Việt Quốc and the broader overseas Vietnamese community, especially scientists in this field, would continue to provide valuable recommendations to help Vietnam leverage opportunities from AI for national development.
The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the professors from Harvard University for presenting important topics of global interest, such as AI and semiconductors, providing useful information for the delegation to study and develop strategic directions in the near future.
