Vo Thanh Lam

Dr. Vo Thanh Lam is a Senior Faculty member of the Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management, Fulbright University, Vietnam. He received Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Law from Hanoi National University’s Law School, and holds a PhD in Law from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. He joined the Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management in the Fall Semester 2021. He teaches Law and Public Policy, and Public Governance.

Prior to joining Fulbright, Dr. Lam had 28 years’ experience working in the ICT industry, 25 years of which were in the service of the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) including positions as Director General of the Legal Department and Director General of the Inspectorate Department. As such, his main roles were the provision of legal advice and the drafting of legal documents, as well as inspecting and monitoring compliance with legal documents in the ICT industry.

His research interests are Enterprise and Competition Law, specific-industry regulations, legislative and institutional reform, legal frameworks for the enhancement of the digital economy and digital transformation of government institutions and enterprises, and alternative dispute resolution.

He is a member of the Hanoi International Arbitration Center and the Vietnam Lawyers Association (VLA).
